Fall Favorites Tag!

Happy Monday everyone!

The start of another new week.

I know people tend to dread Mondays because it’s the start of the week, and it seems like FOREVER until the start of the next weekend, but let’s try making the best of it.

The start of a new week means the start of new opportunities to do things you weren’t previously able to do, always keep that in mind.

* * * * * *

For today’s post, I thought it would be fun to keep the Fall-themed vibes going with a tag post about none other than Fall (bet you didn’t see that coming 😂). So this is going to be the Fall Favorites tag.

I don’t know about anyone else, but personally, Fall is pretty much my favorite season. Weather-wise it’s perfect because (ideally) it’s in between being warm and cool where you might not necessarily have to wear a jacket, but sweaters and cardigans will suffice. The leaves on the trees are changing colors and falling. The holidays begin to approach and so many other great things.

That being said, I’m going to be sharing with you guys some of my current Fall favorites, although some of them really haven’t changed much from last year or even from before that.

* * * * * *

  1. What is your favorite Fall scent?

I would have to say that my all time favorite candle scent is a candle called Home from Bath & Body Works. The scent is an amazing blend of warm caramel, vanilla bean and juicy pear…UGH. It smells amazing. I’ve actually had it for about 2 years and only light it once in a while because I think they discontinued this scent since I can’t find it anywhere anymore 😢

2. Favorite Fall Lip Color

Ugh there are SO many, there’s Lolita from Kat Von D, Kylie Cosmetics has a LOT of nice Fall liquid lipstick shades like Leo, Pumpkin, Moon,  Love Bite, Ginger and Vixen that are all really pretty, Mac lipstick in the shade Captivating, etc. etc. I could go on FOREVER.

3. Favorite Fall Blush

My favorite blush in general, regardless of the season is the Nars blush in Orgasm.

4. Favorite Fall Clothing Item

It’s a tie between flannels, light sweaters and my Charlotte Russe combat boots.

5. Favorite Fall Movie

This is a tie between Hocus Pocus and all of the HalloweenTown movies!!

6. Favorite Fall TV Show

I’ll have to say that I think Riverdale is the best TV show for the Fall.

7. Favorite Thanksgiving Food

Does dessert count as food?! 🤣, I suppose the turkey itself though.

8. Favorite Halloween Costume

I don’t usually get to dress up much for Halloween, but basing it off of previous costumes, I’ll say last year when I was a lion tamer and Michelle (my best friend) was the lion.

9. What is one thing that you look forward to every single Fall?

Being able to go Pumpkin & Apple picking and start preparing for the holidays.

10. How do you like to spend the more chilly/cloudy days in the Fall?

I love to spend these kinds of days one of 2 ways: with Diego cuddled up in bed eating food/snacks while watching movies, or if I can’t be with him, probably cuddled up in bed, enjoying a good book.

11. Which do you prefer: Halloween or Thanksgiving?

I love a healthy mixture of both honestly.

12. What is your favorite trend (fashion/makeup/etc) so far this season?

For fashion, I would have to say that I love a cute yet simple flannel paired with a comfy pair of leggings kind of look with some combat boots. As for makeup, I think a simple look, with a light eye look paired with a bold lip looks SO cool and cute for Fall.

13. Describe what the Fall weather really looks like where you live.

So far, Fall didn’t get off to the best start here in the Northeast, specifically, New York. It was really warm and humid out for a while, up until about 2-3 days ago actually. Now we’re starting to feel the “normal” cool, rainy weather that tends to come along with the Fall season. And hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks we’ll begin to see the leaves start changing and falling more and more.

14. Do you like baking in the autumn season?

I LOVE baking in general, and for me, the “baking season” starts in the Fall, so that’s definitely something I always look forward to every year.

15. Which is your most loved pumpkin-based food?

Pumpkin pie cheesecake….EVERYBODY needs to try it, I promise you will not be disappointed 😍

16. Do you enjoy feeling the cold air, or do you wrap up warm?

I love the feeling of cold air, and having my room be cold in general (at night only), so that I’m able to wrap up in my blankets and feel all warm and cozy.

17.  Fairy lights or candles? What is your choice in the Fall?

Both! I have fairy lights with little pumpkins on them stringing across my vanity, and keep my favorite Fall scented candle on top of my vanity as well.

18.  Which place do you always wish to visit in the Fall season?

It’s not necessarily a ‘specific place’, but I always love the drive going up to White Plains (in New York). It gets to a certain point where you’re driving by/through a ton of trees for a while, and the colors of all the trees together look SO beautiful and peaceful. In general, the scenery is honestly my favorite during this time of year.

19.   During the Fall season, what do you enjoy most with your partner?

Diego and I love so many different things about this time of year, but some of the main things include the cool, breezy weather change and the holidays approaching.

20.  Share your favorite quote related to the autumn.

“Notice how the trees do not cling to their leaves. Fall is about releasing the old to make way for the new.” ☺️🍁🍂

Let me know what some of your guys’ Fall favorites are, and whether or not we have any of the same ones. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you guys in my next post 🙂

Top 5 Favorite Motivational Books

Hi Guys!

If you didn’t know, I’m a HUGE reader. 9 times out of 10, if I have any free time and I’m either not at work, the gym or working on my blog, I probably have a book in my hand. And lately, I’ve been REALLY into books that are like the motivational/inspirational kind you know? So I figure I write a little post detailing the ones in my collection recently that I’ve absolutely been loving.

So, in no particular order, let’s get started!

* * * * * *

  1. You Are A Badass; How To Stop Doubting Your Greatness And Start Living An Awesome Life. By: Jen Sincero

This is actually SUCH a great book. I just recently finished it, and I honestly did not want to put it down. It’s not complex at all, it’s actually really light-hearted and funny, but the main points being made throughout it are super clear. Ultimately, it’s one entire book filled with stories, advice, and exercises to try on your own in order to help you understand why you are the way that you are, change the things in your life you don’t like or aren’t happy with and create a life for yourself that you completely love. 100% recommend to anyone that may be feeling like they’re at a bit of a stand-still with their life.

2. The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck; A Counterintuitive Approach to Living A Good Life. By: Mark Manson

Now this book….this book right here is a fucking gem. It’s a pretty popular book at the moment, and has been for a while. This is another one of those books that’s super light-hearted, but at the same time it’s amazingly raw and inspirational. It’s pretty much taking everything that most inspirational books will tell you like the whole ‘when life gives you lemons, make lemonade’ motto, and saying fuck that. Mark Manson goes into detail without at all sugar-coating anything, that sometimes shit happens and you just kind of have to learn from it and move on. He talks about learning to accept each and every one of your flaws and learning to make something out of them all. It’s so raw, vulgar, and overall an amazing MUST read lol.

3. The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom. By: Don Miguel Ruiz

This is a great book for inspiration and helping to put things into perspective in your life. This little book is almost completely based off of Toltec wisdom, and it teaches about these 4 agreements that help to ensure you’re living your life to be able to experience love, freedom and true happiness. If you’re not much of a HUGE book reader, but are still looking for some reading inspiration, this book might be perfect for you because it’s tiny and gets right to the point of things.

4. Mindfulness: A Practical Guide. By: Tessa Watt.

If you’re anything like me, then every so often you need to read books like this, because they pretty much remind me to slow down and really enjoy/live in the moment, which I tend not to do very much, as much as I may want to. This book is all about being mindful. It gives tips and exercises for you the reader to try on your own and bring in to play in your day to day routines. There’s breathing tips, meditating tips if you’re into that, etc., and it just overall tries to help you be more open and mindful of the things in your life and around you that you might not typically be aware of. Another short, but very helpful and inspirational book I would say and recommend.

5. 50 Things That Really Matter. By: Hallmark, Rodale Inc.

This is a REALLY good and cute little book, because it really puts everything into perspective, for me anyway. You have so many people around the world that always tend to fixate on the dumbest little things, but does any of that REALLY matter? This book really breaks it down and not only names, but describes in detail, 50 realistic things in life that may seem minor, but SHOULD really matter to a person. As they say, it’s the little things in life, you know?

Unfortunately, I don’t remember where or how I bought this book, and have been looking all over the place online for a legit site to be able to link for you guys to be able to purchase this from, and all that’s coming up is Ebay. So if anyone else happens to look it up and finds it, please let me know and I’ll link it, unless you guys trust Ebay, then that’s totally fine too.

What are some of your guys’ favorite books to read when you’re looking for some extra motivation? I’d love to hear it in the comments below and get some book recommendations from you guys! 🙂
