Year-End Reflection Of 2018

I’m not going to pretend like this is going to be a super motivational post, because let’s be real…..2018 fucking sucked (personally). A lot of shit happened, a lot of shit went wrong and just generally, it wasn’t great.

I like to try and always stay positive and attempt to see the upside of things, but let’s be real, this year was a rough one.ย From personal stuff with family, to personal mental/internal stuff, to financial stuff, etc., the list can go on and on unfortunately. It’s just been a lot to take in within a year.

* * * * * *

I thought from the beginning that 2018 was going to be an AMAZING year. I swore by it. But, sometimes things, life, etc., just doesn’t go as planned. And if there’s anything that 2018 taught me, it’s that.

However, I must admit that with the bad certainly does come the good (to some extent). In spite of all the things that I briefly mentioned I dealt with this year, there were a few minor blessings as well.

For example, I just recently (2 days ago) hit my goal of wanting to get 100 followers on my blog before the end of 2018, which I now officially have surpassed with a current total of 102 followers (thank you to every single person who’s been following me from beginning until now and even recently started following).

I also made a year at my current job in September, and have worked my ASS off this year to ensure that my bosses, colleagues, etc. know that I am hardworking, reliable, dependent, and trustworthy with any and all work they give me. Which, has led me to recently have not only received a pretty great bonus from my boss, but also just as great of a raise as well!

I also was recently able to pick up a second job, which, although has been EXTREMELY tiring and time-consuming, has been great money-wise for not only paying my bills, but also for a little extra pocket money.

Those are pretty much the “biggest things/accomplishments” that happened for me in 2018. Is that sad? I don’t know, I don’t think so, because you’ve gotta shed some light on the little things that make you feel happy and accomplished just as much as you do the big things sometimes. Giving yourself credit when it’s due.

* * * * * *

With that being said, I also want to bring up how passive I was throughout 2018. Meaning, I was unintentionally super laid back. I let things and people get to me, that I not only should not have, but also I should’ve said more to stick up for myself. I let a lot of behaviors and situations go by that I should not have. I let myself get to such a depressive state in my life without asking and/or getting any sort of help to the point where I felt like I wanted to take my own life. And I just generally didn’t fight and/or push for anything to happen in my life in 2018 BECAUSE of how passive, depressed, and just generally tired I was of life.

These were all things though that, had I taken control of early on, could’ve made ALL the difference. I probably would not be in the position that I am right now, nor would I have been a few months ago.

* * * * * *

Without getting into TOO much detail about it, I just wanted to bring this up to point out that I didn’t make anything happen for myself in 2018. I sat back and attempted to WAIT for things to happen and get done, without realizing that thats not how it works. Sure, I should’ve known that and you hear people tell you that ALL the time, but actually experiencing it for yourself is a WHOLE other level of hurt, anxiety and depression.

It sucks. But, you know what they say, you live and learn.

I’m making a promise to myself to not have a repeat of 2018, in 2019. 2019 is going to be all about making shit happen for myself. I will no longer sit and wait for things to come to me. Whatever happens from here on out, will happen because I want and am making it happen that way.

I’m speaking it into existence (and have been a lot recently if you happen to follow me on social media) that 2019 is going to be THAT year. I don’t typically tend to like odd numbers, BUT, I think and feel like 2019 is going to be a GREAT year for myself, as well as my loved ones. A lot is going to happen and get accomplished, and I can’t wait to see the results slowly start to take place.

As for 2018 as a whole, the only other thing I’ve really got left to say to you is thank you, next….and 2019, I’m comin’ for ya.

* * * * * *

I’m sorry that this post was sort of all over the place, but these were just a few of the thoughts I was having of not only the past year, but also of what’s to come in the future that I wanted to share with you all.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and have a very happy and healthy new year with your family, friends, significant others and general loved ones.

Please follow, like share and comment, and I’ll see you guys next year!

Cheers to 2019……!

Favorite Holiday Scents + Excitement For Christmas!

Hello and Merry Christmas Eve Eve everyone!! ๐Ÿ˜€

For my blogmas day 8 post, I thought it would be fun to double up and speak about my favorite holiday scents with you guys + my excitement for the next 2 days!!

Being able to do Blogmas this year for the first time has been SO much fun (in spite of me cheating a little bit and not posting every single day, consecutively). Hopefully, next year I’ll do a much better job at posting regularly for it, but I’ve had a lot of fun doing them, as well as I hope you guys have had fun reading them.

I can’t believe it’s already almost over!! Time went by SO fast ๐Ÿ˜ฆ it’s a little unfortunate, ย but hey, it is what it is and all we can do is make the best of the last couple of days we have left right?!

So let’s get right into the post!

* * * * * *

I want to start off by saying that if I get candles from ANYWHERE, 9 times out of 10, they’re from Bath & Body Works. I almost never get them from ย anywhere else, just because I feel like they always have such a great variety of scents for holidays, special occasions, etc. PLUS they always have a TON of deals on them all the time. What’s not to love about them?!

I actually have quite a few favorites from here, but for the sake of this post, I’m only mentioning my absolute favorite scents for this time of year (the holidays).

  1. Marshmallow Firesideย

IMG_3241

This is actually one of their recurring scents that I’m pretty sure they bring every year specifically for this time of year, either that or it’s a scent they just bring back for Winter in general. But regardless, it’s definitely a favorite and ALWAYS have to have it with me during the holidays. I DO know that every year they switch the ‘packaging’ of it, so if you’re in the store and looking for this, try not to go looking for it solely based off the picture I have.

In the fragrance notes, it says that it has Toasted Marshmallow, Smoldering Woods, Fire Roasted Vanilla, and Crystallized Amber. Just typing this alone, I can smell the scent from ย what I’m picturing in mind, and it is AMAZING. If you haven’t picked it up and/or tried smelling this candle before, you need to get on that ASAP.

2. Vanilla Bean Noel

IMG_3246

I actually bought this candle about a year or 2 ago, so I’m not at all sure if this is another recurring candle that they always bring back, or just one of their limited edition holiday ones unfortunately. However, I definitely think it’s still worth the risk looking for it because this also smells AMAZING.

In the fragrance notes it says that it has Fresh Vanilla Bean, Warm Caramel, Whipped Cream, Snow-kissed Musk, and Sugar Cookies……OH-MY-GOD. THE BEST!!!

3. Better Not Pout

IMG_3250

I’m pretty positive that this was one of their limited edition holiday scents unfortunately. But, I’m sure if you shop around and smell-out the holiday candles they have in-store, that you’ll be able to find something similar to it, if not the exact thing, just with different packaging.

The fragrance notes says that it has Spiced Gingerbread, Vanilla Icing, Sparkling Cinnamon Sugar, and Fresh Ground Nutmeg.

How great does that sound?!

And lastly, 4. ‘Tis The Season

IMG_3255

I believe that this is another one of their recurring scents, however, I don’t actually think they typically tend to come out with a bigger, 3-wick version. I think the only size they come with for this one is this single-wick size OR their miniature one. Regardless, their candles tend to last a long time (for me anyway), so even if you get this size, it’ll last you quite some time.

In the fragrance notes it says that this one contains Bright Red Apples, Freshly Ground Cinnamon, and Deep Green Pine. I pretty much only smell the cinnamon, but I really don’t care because this, to me, smells completely like Christmas in a candle. Like if I had to think of a scent that was associated with Christmas time, it would definitely be this one. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

* * * * * *

Well, those were my absolute favorite holiday scented candles. If you haven’t seen or smelled these before, I definitely recommend that either now or next year, you make it a priority to go pick them up and try them. I promise you won’t be disappointed!!

Before I end this post, I just wanted to express how happy and excited I am for this Christmas. Sure there are a few things that are different and have changed from last year, or previous years in general, but overall, the feeling of happiness and excitement is still there and only continues to grow.

This year, I’m going to be able to spend Christmas with my extended family, which is something I haven’t been able to do in YEARS. So, the next 2 days are going to be super busy, exciting, and fun and I can’t wait for it all! I’ll be sure to do an updated post on Wednesday or Thursday about how it all went! ๐Ÿ™‚

But, until then…I wanna wish all of my followers, family and friends a very Merry Christmas, thank you guys so much for reading. Please follow, like, share, and comment and I’ll see you guys for Blogmas Day 9 in a few days!

*Btw!! I’m almost at a 100 followers!! Which, if you didn’t know, that was one of my goals to accomplish by or before the end of 2018, ahh!!! So crazy!! Thank you guys so much! ๐Ÿ˜€ *

Christmas Decor Haul!

What’s goin’ on you guys?! ๐Ÿ˜€

For my second Blogmas post, I wanted to do and share with you guys a Christmas decor haul post! I did one for Fall/Halloween, so I figure why not do another for the holiday season?!

Similar to my Fall/Halloween haul post (which I’ll leave linkedย hereย if you guys wanted to check it out), for the most part everything I picked up is affordable and not at all crazy expensive. I shopped at stores like Dollar Tree, Target, CVS (again), and the Christmas Tree Shop!!

Some are things I’ve had from last year, and a lot of them are actually new additions that I’m really excited about sharing with you guys! ๐Ÿ˜€

I figure I’ll pretty much do it the same way I did the last one, in that I’ll break the items up based off the store(s) I bought them at.

So let’s get started! ๐Ÿ™‚

* * * * * *

Dollar Tree

I feel like this store is SO underrated.ย  Literally every single thing you pick up here is $1. They don’t say their store is a dollar or a 99 cents store but then really everything is $2, $3, $4…no. EVERY SINGLE THING IS $1. AND especially for things/occasions like this, they actually have A LOT of cute and good quality stuff for it.

Dollar Tree is definitely a go-to for me when I’m shopping for decorations for a particular occasion. It’s actually probably one of the first stores I go check out before anywhere else.ย Scroll down to see the things I got from there.ย

To be able to hang on my door.
IMG_1740
Candy cane streamer, which I hung over my bed.
IMG_1741
The next four are all Christmas signs that I hung throughout the walls in my room.

IMG_1753
I hung these candy canes right above my bed frame.
IMG_1755
So I hung the candy canes at a distance from each other, and in between them, put these cute little signs.

* * * * * *

Target:

Target, as I’m sure relatively EVERYONE knows, has really great stuff when it comes to special occasions, holidays, etc. as well. BUT, it is or could be more on the pricier side of things.

These next 2 things I got were actually from Target, but thankfully, weren’t that bad at all price-wise.

IMG_1757
Santa Claus fairy lights!! If you saw (and/or remember) my Halloween/Fall decor post, I got similar lights, but with pumpkins on them and I strung them over my vanity.
IMG_1760
So I got these in a box last year from Target. They’re little wind up toys and came with a total of 6 of them. Originally, I got them for Diego’s nephews as little stocking stuffers, but I ended up having a ton extra, so I gave some to my family and kept these two for myself. And I just put them at the tops of my vanity for decoration.

Bath & Body Works

This one is pretty self- explanatory just because in general for the most part, this entire store is for buying candles, wall scents, etc. I buy my candles from here (as pictured below), HOWEVER, they don’t have a HUGE selection, but they do also have little decorative pieces here and there aside from candles and scents, which is where I got the below figurines.

IMG_2494
During the holidays, these are my three absolute favorite scented candles to get from Bath & Body Works. Ugh, they smell AMAZING. Light any one of these candles, put on some Christmas music, and I promise you you’ll be in the Christmas spirit instantly.

I had went to Bath & Body Works after Christmas last year (a few days later), when there were a TON of sales going on and saw these and thought they were SO cute for like $1, so I grabbed them both! ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_1761

* * * * * *

Christmas Tree Shops

And finally, I HAD to mention my absolute favorite store of all (for the Holiday season), which is called Christmas Tree Shops!!

You guys…obsessed is an understatement. The name is super deceiving, but this place is completely decked out from head to toe in Christmas Decor. They have everything from Christmas trees, to lights and decorations, food, snacks and candy, etc.

And the best part about them? THEY’RE NOT EXPENSIVE AT ALL. Now, I wouldn’t say the prices are as cheap as Dollar Tree, but regardless it’s still pretty inexpensive compared to most places.

I didn’t get ALL that much stuff here, but I cannot wait to go here to buy all of mine and Diego’s future holiday decorations for our own place. ๐Ÿ˜€ โค

IMG_2420
Some little pictures/plaques that I hung up around my room.

IMG_2422

IMG_2452

IMG_2461
More little pictures/plaques for my room, but I actually keep these in particular on my TV stand along with the other little things which I’m going to mention in a second.
IMG_2424
This picture is a tiny bit misleading, just because the little tree on the left was actually part of the figurine decorations I got at bath & body works, and the snowglobe on the right, I actually got in CVS. BUT, the Christmas countdown in the middle was from the Christmas Tree Shops store lol. (Also, these 3 pieces are actually my favorites from everything that I have).
IMG_2465
And the last couple of things I have are actually these mini light-up snowglobe type things. They’re those ones that you see in all sorts of characters, occasions, etc. that also change color as they stay on. Super cute, and they were only $1 each. These are what I keep on my TV along with the plaques I mentioned before. See below for them changing colors.

* * * * * *

Well guys, that’s it. Those are all of the holiday decorations I have this year (for my room anyway). I hope you guys enjoyed this post and/or that I peaked your interest with some of the pieces I had.

Leave me a comment or write to me on social media about any holiday-related posts or posts in general that you guys would like to see in the future!

Please like, share, follow, and comment, and I’ll see you guys on Sunday for my Blogmas day 3 post! ๐Ÿ™‚
