My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hey guys! For today’s post I thought it would be fun to share with you guys my everyday makeup routine.

This is actually the look that I did the other day when I went apple and pumpkin picking with Diego and our friends/family. It’s simple as heck but always still manages to make me feel pretty and “done-up.”

I’m going to be sharing with you guys the products I used and what I used to apply each of them. I also did my best to take certain pictures to show you guys the individual products on my face before taking pictures of the overall final product. Does that make sense? You’ll understand better as I actually move along lol.

Also, something to quickly mention before I start is that I’m obviously in no way, shape or form a makeup artist, nor am I trying to be. But, these are products that I’ve really been loving lately and are my typical go-to products whenever I want to do a nice, little calm beat and I just felt like sharing that with you guys, so that’s what I’m doing today 🙂 .

Lastly, I took all of these photos with my iPhone XS in my naturally lit room, so if the colors or lighting or any of that look off, that’s why!

* * * * * *

 So the first thing I do before anything is make sure that my face is nice and clean then put my moisturizer on. For my moisturizer, I more often than not reach for my Dermasil Dry Skin Treatment Original Lotion.

Honestly, there’s no particular reason why I reach for this one as opposed to any other one, other than the fact that I just generally like this one a lot.  And even when I don’t wear makeup, this tends to be my everyday moisturizer in the mornings and at night.

* * * * * *

The next thing I do after moisturizing my face, is put on primer. Now the primer that I’ve been using recently is fairly new to me still, but overall I’ve found that I like it A LOT and has been my go-to lately. The primer I’m talking about (which also doubles over as my setting spray after everything) is the Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer and Setting Spray.

At the moment I only have the ‘trial size’, but once this one is finished, I’ll probably end up getting the full-sized one. I originally got this as a trial size just to be able to test it out and now that I have for a while, I’ve realized that I really like it, which isn’t much of a surprise since I have the original Hangover Replenishing Face Primer and loved that one for a while too.

* * * * * *

This next step 2 steps kind of just always depends on how I’m feeling that day, because I’ll either do one or the other first, but regardless I do end up doing both and it always ends up working out. HOWEVER, for this look in particular and the day I did it, after priming my face, I went in with my foundation. The foundation I’ve really been reaching for lately is my Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation, in the shade Medium Neutral.

Just foundation on my face, at the moment.

I bought this foundation a couple of months ago when it first came out pretty much because of the concealer. I figure that I loved the concealer so much, so why not try the foundation too? And sure enough, I loved this as well, and ever since I’ve been using it like crazy. It has very quickly become a favorite of mine. To apply my foundation, I use the E.L.F. Cosmetics Ultimate Blending Brush.

* * * * * *

After my foundation is on I went in to do my brows. The only brow product I really ever tend to use is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the shade Ebony.

Only foundation and brows on. I do usually tend to go in with concealer to clean and sculpt them out a little more, but I was sort of in a rush and didn’t have a chance to do that this day.

I have yet to find another brow product that does it for me the way that this one does. And don’t get me wrong, I’m open to trying anything new, ESPECIALLY if I’m going to end up loving it, it’s just that at the moment, I haven’t found anything that I’ve liked more than the Brow Wiz.

As for brow gel, I always go in with the ABH Clear Brow Gel, because it’s my favorite at the moment, and similar to the Brow Wiz, I have yet to find one that I love just as much.

* * * * * *

After I finish my foundation and brows, I go in with my concealer. Now, even for my everyday makeup looks, I don’t typically tend to use one specific concealer. Every time I do it, I’ll use a different one and there have been quite a few that I’ve REALLY been liking lately, but for this look in particular, I went in with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in the shade Medium-Light Warm.

Like I said, there’s been quite a few different concealers that I’ve been really liking lately, but this one in particular tends to stand out THAT much more for some reason. It does a pretty good job at covering my dark circles, really doesn’t crease all that much (of course I have to set it a bit, but nonetheless), and blends pretty seamlessly with me. To blend out my concealer I actually use the Red Beauty Blender, which I won’t show because it was kind of dirty….lol.

* * * * * *

I don’t typically set my entire face with powder, because I don’t usually need to. I don’t find that I get creasing on my forehead or smile lines or even around my nose (thankfully, not trying to brag about that). I find that although I have combination skin, it tends to be more on the oily side then on the dry side these days.

However, to set my under eyes a little bit, I went in with a BRAND NEW powder that I recently bought and just from using it that one time, I think it’s already going to end up becoming a go-to. The powder I’m talking about is the Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder.

Let’s keep in mind that it was only the first time that I had used it, BUT it did SUCH a good job at setting my under eyes and not having them crease up on me. I typically tend to struggle at finding a good under eye powder that helps me avoid creasing, so the fact that this actually was great at that, made me REALLY excited.

This day I had finished my makeup at about noon, and by the time I got home from everything I was doing and checked out how my eyes were doing, it was about 8pm and only then did I start to see minor creasing. That’s 8 hours..not too shabby if you ask me.

* * * * * *

After setting my under eyes, I go in with my bronzer. Now similar to concealer, I’ve actually been really liking and going between using about 2-3 different ones lately, but for this look in particular I went in using my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade Bronzer.

Foundation, Brows, Concealer, Powder and Bronzer.

This is probably my FAVORITE drugstore bronzer of all time. I have yet to find one that tops this (which if you happen to have one you like and/or think is better, please free to share with me 🙂 ). It blends really easy, always looks pretty on the skin and smells AMAZING. I’m sure you guys have heard a zillion times that it’s like the ultimate smell of a tropical dream lol. SO good, and cheap at that too, so what could be better? I always use my Too Faced Mr. Right- The Perfect Powder Brush to blend this and any bronzer out really.

* * * * * *

*This is about the time when the pictures started going downhill and I stopped, because I was really rushing at this point lol.*

After my bronzer, I always apply my blush. I attempt to try new blushes every so often, but for the most part I almost always stick to this one in particular which is the Nars blush in Orgasm.

I have literally always loved this blush since the very first time I saw and used it more or less a year ago. I just think it’s the prettiest, perfect pinky blush for my skin tone and gives me a nice little flush to the cheeks. It’s definitely my favorite, although I have a few others that I don’t mind switching it up for every so often, I do almost always grab for this one. I always apply my blush with the Real Techniques Blush Brush.

* * * * * *

After my blush, I always curl my lashes and go in with my mascara. My eyelash curler is nothing special which is why I didn’t feel the need to take a picture of it and show it to you guys. Although, if I remember correctly, it’s from Revlon.

However, the mascara that I’ve been absolutely OBSESSED with recently is this Lancome Monsieur Big mascara. This mascara is probably the best mascara of all time (I’m aware at how bold of a statement that is, but it’s the truth!!). I naturally already have really long lashes, but this intensifies that SO much more in the best way possible, while also giving me really great volume. I literally cannot say enough good things about this product other than that it’s definitely a favorite.

* * * * * *

While I’m waiting for my mascara to dry is always when I take the opportunity to go in with whatever highlight it is I want to wear that day. For this look, I wanted something that would be subtle, but you would obviously still notice that it was there, so I went in with the Wet-n-Wild To Reflect Shimmer Palette in Boozy Brunch.

Guys this highlight is SO pretty. It really gives such a beautifully subtle glow to the face. And personally, whenever I put it on, I can pretty much build it up as much as I want and it still doesn’t ever look too chunky on my skin or like it’s just sitting there you know? Definitely a great quality drugstore highlight. To apply my highlight I believe I used the Sigma F03 High Cheekbone Highlighting brush.

* * * * * *

And finally for my lip product. For this look originally I was really excited to try a new liquid lipstick that I had recently purchased, which was the Beauty Bakerie Matte Lip Whip in the shade Gingersnap…..HOWEVER…..although I didn’t take a picture of it on my lips, after I put it on (literally like a minute or two later), it looked really weird and like patchy.

It was the weirdest thing and I have never really had that happen to me before with a lipstick. But it looked all broken up and transferred A LOT when I would purse my lips together like I would typically do after applying. I don’t know, all I had underneath was my usual lip balm that I literally ALWAYS wear under my lipsticks, so I doubt it was that. But it kind of (unfortunately) turned me off to it altogether. I have another shade from them that I’m going to test out before coming to a final conclusion about it, but yeah, so far I was really disappointed and it was a pretty bad first impression.

But, after I immediately removed THAT from my lips, I decided to go in with one of my FAVORITE liquid lipstick shades to wear around this time of year which is the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lolita.

* * * * * *

Well that’s it guys, that’s my everyday makeup look. See the final product below. Thanks so much for reading and I hope you guys enjoyed it.

On The Menu Today: Nomo Kitchen in SoHo!

Hi Guys! 🙂

Last Sunday (the 19th of August), me, Diego and our good friend Genaro went out to brunch in the city to celebrate my birthday. The place I chose was actually one that we had all been to before, for Diego’s birthday.

That place is called NoMo Kitchen in SoHo, which is what we’re going to be talking about today.

I found this place online back in April for Diego’s birthday, and loved it so much that I told him I wanted to come here again for mine.

I mainly chose it not only because I saw the menu and ambiance of the restaurant and thought it looked nice, but also because Diego LOVES SoHo. Ask him what part of New York City he loves the most, and he’ll most likely tell you that haha. And because of him, I’ve grown pretty fond of it as well. I mean who wouldn’t? There’s great stores to shop at, great restaurants all over, and cool street art all over the place to take great pictures.

So I figure, what better place to take him out for his birthday then in his favorite area right?

Entrance & Decor of the restaurant:

One thing to mention about this place is that it’s both a hotel AND restaurant. So when you first walk-in, you see this really pretty, lit up archway, which is one of the (if not THE) most popular place in the vicinity to take pictures. We took a few, but because it’s so popular, it’s a little hard to get any without someone or people being in the background of it lol.

I literally fell in love with that archway. It’s SO cute, and I’m dying to come back and check it out at night. I can only imagine how much more pretty it must look…*too cheesy? Okay sorry, let’s move on!!*

After you walk through the archway, comes the actual restaurant. I really like the set up of the entire thing. All of the greenery, graffiti on the walls and overall decor is really nice.  It’s chill, but looks nice and “fancy enough” to make you want to dress up for it still.

The first time we went we had sat at a corner table, which was fine except when I wanted to take a picture by the hearts wall because I thought it was SO cute (clearly it’s the little things that please me lol). There were 2 different hearts walls, which both had a table in front of them, and every time one of the tables cleared and I wanted to get up to take a picture in front of it, new guests were seated at the table; so it just really wasn’t workin’ out for me.

When we went for my birthday brunch, we got to sit in front one of them, so you guys can imagine how excited I was!

Food & Drinks:

So as I mentioned in the beginning, we came here for my birthday brunch (as we did for Diego’s birthday back in April, because let’s be real, who doesn’t love brunch?).

The first time we went for Diego’s birthday, we just kind of ordered whatever food, drinks, etc. we wanted and went a little crazy. But for my birthday, we decided to do the hour and a half bottomless brunch special for $29 per person (with our specific drink(s) being mimosas).

If you’re unfamiliar with what a bottomless brunch special is, ultimately, it’s you paying one set price to have unlimited access to the specific drink of your choosing for a set time that the restaurant gives you, with your desired meal as well. A lot of restaurants, pubs, bars, etc. tend to do this special, so if you haven’t tried it out somewhere I definitely recommend doing it.

I completely think it’s worth it, being that it’s literally unlimited mimosas or whatever drink it is you choose for an hour and a half, especially since the cost for lets say 4-5 mimosas is already going to probably be over $30 as it is and adding your meal into that you’ll most likely end up paying double.

I don’t at ALL remember what drink specifically this was, but it was super good and sweet tasting and the cup was hilarious to me for some reason. Reminded me of Medieval times for some reason.

I thought the food was amazing, presentation and portion wise. I’m a huge breakfast person, so I ended up getting the Eggs your Way dish with potatoes, turkey bacon, toast and french fries on the side (pictured below). I’m the type that I can EAT, but when there are a few different things coming with my meal the way that this did, a portion size like this is the perfect amount.

Our friend Genaro got relatively the same thing as me, the only difference is he substituted the turkey bacon for sausage and got the avocado toast on the side (which he said was AMAZING and he highly recommends for anyone to try), also pictured below.

Diego is a HUGE burger lover, so he just ended up getting the double cheeseburger (which he mentioned was really good) and an order of the lemon ricotta pancakes on the side for me and him to split.

Guys I just gotta say…if you know me, you know that when it comes to food I LOVEEEEE to eat, but to the same extent, I’m pretty plain when it comes to my food. Not in the sense of no seasoning or anything like that, but like I don’t care for my food to be made super fancy or look crazy and expensive or different crazy flavors or anything like that, does that make sense? I just mean that I like what I like and that’s that.

For example, with pancakes, I really only typically tend to like and eat plain pancakes or chocolate chip ones occasionally, but any flavors out of that realm has always been a hard pass, but these….OH MY GOD.

These lemon ricotta pancakes are the x 10!!!! They taste SO good, it’s actually insane. They’re so little and cute and delicious. You definitely taste the lemon in the pancakes, but it’s not in an overpowering, tangy way. It’s light and sweet. 10/10 recommend that if you come here, these are a MUST to try, along with the avocado toast that Geno had and suggested.

* * * * * *

General Thoughts:

Overall, I completely love and recommend for anyone that reads this to try out NoMo’s Kitchen if you’re in the city and in the SoHo area. Price wise, the place is a little bit pricey, but I think it’s worth it to try.

The food was great, the ambiance and decor were SO nice, and the service was pretty good. I will say though that the first time we came here for Diego’s birthday, the service was better then when we came this time around for my birthday.

The lady we originally had started off pretty good, but then suddenly left and didn’t really say anything to us about her leaving or us getting a new server. And then the new male server we got, service wise, was kind of slow. He almost looked like he could careless about being there and waiting on us, which listen, I used to work at a restaurant myself so I I get it to some extent, trust me. But at the end the day, we are paying for a service, and you don’t have to be our best friend, but at least be quick when it comes to bringing us/refilling our drinks you know?

So that was a little bit of a downer, but it is what it is I guess. I’m not going to let that hinder my overall impression and liking of NoMo’s, which is that I really loved it. Everything else was pretty great, and I think that the general prices of everything was pretty worth it.

Originally, my overall rating of this place was a 10, but after the no-so-great service we got on Sunday, sorry guys, you got dropped to an 8-9. I would recommend that you guys come and try it out for yourselves at least once though.

* * * * * *

Well, that’s all that I’ve got for you guy’s today on this restaurant post. Let me know what you guys thought about it. Did you end up trying it? What did you think about it if you did? Let me know!

Also, let me know if you guys have any recommendation’s of restaurants, fast food places, coffee shops, etc. that you think I should try and review. I love getting recommendations from you guys! 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Tell Me You Love Me Tour 2018: Barclays Center!

Hi Guys, today’s post is going to be about my recent Demi Lovato concert experience. Yes, I realize that this may not be a post that many people will be interested in, but if you know me you know that I am absolutely in LOOOOOVE with Demi Lovato, so I figure it would be a cool way to document and share my experience with you guys.

* * * * * *

Background Info:

What a lot of people don’t know is that as much as I love Demi, the days leading up to and me actually going to the concert were really hard. It was hard because every time I thought about it, it brought me back to the exact day I bought my tickets and meet & greet package which was November 3rd. That day started off beyond amazing because I got the front row seats that I was DYING for and of course the meet & greet with Demi herself! Little did I know, however, that the best day that I had in a long time was going to turn into the worst day of my life real quick. If you read my “Paw Prints on Our Hearts” post, my cat and long time best friend, died on that day. I won’t go into the specifics of that because I already wrote an entire post about it, which you could check out if you’re interested and I’ll leave linked here: Paw Prints On Our Hearts.

The point is, all of that was really hard on me and although I was super excited about the show, I also felt really guilty about being happy for it. After months of going back and forth about it, I finally had told myself that I’ve been waiting to do this for nearly 2 years, if not more, so I deserved to be happy and excited about it. So that’s what I did, I stopped being sad about it and started to get excited, which was good because time flew by and before I knew it, it was concert day.

* * * * * *

Concert Day: March 16, 2018

The entire day leading up to the time of the show was INSANE; so much going on and so much to do! Diego and I both took off from work because we knew there was going to be a lot going on and a lot that had to get done (more for me than him, but still lol). I was packing for the weekend, getting my nails and hair done, and had to go to the city to check-in to our hotel before the meet & greet, and even had to do my makeup!

Both Diego and I had meet & greets (me for Demi, him for DJ Khaled), so we had to be at the venue way earlier than the time of the show. My check-in time was between 4:30-5:15pm, and his was at like 6:15pm. I had to be there first but made sure to ask them beforehand if it was okay for me to bring him inside the venue just to hang out until it was his turn so he wouldn’t be alone somewhere outside and freezing (shoutout to Karla from Host for making that happen!!).

To say that I was shitting bricks the entire time I was waiting up until I was finally face to face with Demi is a COMPLETE understatement. I WAS FREAKING THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!! I mean seriously, I was about to meet Demi Lovato! If you know me, you know how ridiculously overdue me meeting Demi has been.

The overall waiting process was about an hour and a half. I know that may seem like a super long time, but 1. I was super nervous so it didn’t even feel that long, 2. while waiting we got to hear Demi in soundcheck, and 3. I had made a friend on the line. It was cool because I had never done anything like that before, and she had done it one other time, so we were talking for a while about her experience, what I should expect, etc. it was nice, I had someone to freak out with lol. And before I knew it, the meet and greet sessions were starting.

* * * * * *

Meeting Demi:

It all went so freaking fast honestly. There was this divide between the line we were on and the little space that Demi was in. The divide was a curtain. So every time someone would go in, you would get the tiniest glimpse into where she was and seeing like her jacket or her hair but not fully her!!

The one thing that did kind of suck was that beforehand, someone from her team came out to tell everyone that Demi was put on voice-rest before the show, so if she didn’t happen to say much that was why. And I know a lot of people were upset about that because they wanted to be able to speak to her and do all these different things (understandably so) and get what they paid for. So when everyone heard that, they were kind of disappointed (again, understandably so). Personally, yeah it was a lot of money, but since it was my first time and I love Demi so much, just being in her presence alone was fine for me. And I know that may sound weird or stupid, but it’s the truth. I was in Demi’s presence for a total of 5 minutes more or less. As soon as they opened the curtain and it was my turn to go, I was literally like 😨😵 OH.MY.GOD. and I just kept staring at her. I swear it felt like a dream and like I was floating. To be honest I don’t even remember telling her my name. What I do remember telling her is how fucking beautiful she is. She couldn’t say much, but she whispered “hi, how are you?,” and “thank you so much.”

After that came the picture…. I was TERRIFIED about the picture because I didn’t want to look fat or gross, or have my eyes closed or anything dumb like that and you only got one professional photo! So if it was fucked up, that was it. **Spoiler alert!! If you haven’t seen it, it looks AMAZING (I think anyway)** Scroll down to see it!

Side Note: Originally I wanted to be able to take a picture with us hugging, which I’m sure I could’ve done had I asked her, but I was just so nervous that I completely blanked and forgot to ask 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol.

Once I left the meet and greet, I was dazed the fuck out and couldn’t believe I just met Demi Lovato. Somehow or another though I managed to direct myself to the merch table and bought a t-shirt and sweatshirt, which was good because I wanted to be able to do that at some point. Now, the meet and greet was over, I got my merch and food and it was time to hear bae sing her fucking heart out!!

* * * * * *

The show itself started at about 7:30pm and opened with Kehlani. If I’m being honest, before the show I had never heard any music by her; I knew a bit about her, but not her music. So Diego and I were pretty much going in blind for her performance while everyone else was hyped af. But trust me when I say that by the end of it, we were definitely fans. Her style, her voice, her dancing, and the way she hyped up the crowd was all great. She really is a great performer with an amazing voice, and at the moment, there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t listen to CRZY. My absolute FAV right now.

After Kehlani came DJ Khaled. Now again, if I’m being honest, although there are a lot of great songs that he’s apart of, since he doesn’t actually sing or anything, I really didn’t expect much from him. I didn’t even actually know WHAT to expect from him because of that. But honestly, he did his shit and his set was great. He’s like the greatest hype man ever lol. He played and danced to all the hype hits like Turn Down For What, All The Way Up, Wild Thoughts, and his new song Top Off.

He also brought out 2 special guests which was pretty dope, A Boogie and J. Balvin. They both played great songs of theirs; A Boogie rapped My Shyt and Drownin’, and J. Balvin sang his hit Mi Gente. It was awesome. To end his set, he hyped the crowd up to see Demi finally and gave us one of his usual motivational speeches about life and his upcoming album. And then finally before he left, Asahd came waddling out and everyone freaked tf out from how cute he is (which btw, he’s like the calmest baby EVER).

Side Note: That night, if you go on his Instagram, DJ Khaled took a group photo of himself and the audience, and if you zoom in REALLY close you see me and Diego in the bottom corner… heyyyyyy we made the cut! 💁🏻‍♀️ LOL

Finally for the main act, Demi came out (or up I should say since she came from below the stage)!! Of course, she killed every single song that she performed (which was a total of about 18, relatively back to back too with maybe 5 minutes (if that) in between like 7 songs for the sake of wardrobe changes). I absolutely loved every minute of her set, especially being as close up as I was. I had seen Demi live one other time about 2-3 years ago on her Future Now tour with Nick Jonas, and my seating was nowhere near as close as I was this time, but they both put on an amazing show so there wasn’t a doubt in my mind the same thing would happen this time, if not better on her own tour. Which was exactly what happened. She played a ton of songs from her new album Tell Me You Love Me, including a handful from previous albums like Heart Attack and Give Your Heart a Break. She also brought her own little special guest out, Iggy Azalea, and they performed one of Iggy’s songs called Savior. I had never seen or heard her perform live before so that was pretty cool too.

However, I think the absolute best part of the show was somewhat towards the end when DJ Khaled and Kehlani stopped the show to give a speech and congratulate Demi on 6 years of sobriety (which was actually made official the day before on March 15th). And yes, for those of you that aren’t aware, Demi was an avid user up until 6 years ago. She is now completely sober of any and all drugs and alcohol. The entire thing was extremely emotional. She cried, which made me cry, and then she made little jokes to try lightening the mood up a bit. But before leaving the stage, Dj Khaled and Kehlani had the entire audience sing happy birthday to Demi, to which then followed by everyone chanting “Demi! Demi! Demi!” It was sad, but overall extremely inspiring. Once she finally collected herself, she gave a little speech thanking all of us and them and then went on to play two of what I think are probably her most emotional songs, one about overcoming her struggles (Warrior), and the other about her father who passed away and was an addict himself (Father). She had also never performed Father live before, which was really cool to be able to see (it came out in 2015).

This is where she was when DJ Khaled & Kehlani came out to surprise her and where she performed Warrior and Father (also one of my absolute favorite photos that I had taken of her that night).

To close out the show, Demi performed two of my favorite songs from her newest album, Sorry Not Sorry and Tell Me You Love Me. It was such a great and fun way to close out the show honestly, everyone was singing along and not a single person was sitting down. Demi really knows how to finish things with a bang!

* * * * * *

Final Thoughts:

One of the BEST shows I’ve ever been to hands down, I mean granted I’ve only ever been to 2 other concerts before and one of them was another of Demi’s, but still. From the setlists, to all of the special guests, the outfits, special effects, etc., overall truly a great show. And I feel like Demi has been SO slept on as far as her voice, style and how she is as a person; people are only now starting to truly recognize her for the star that she is. Meanwhile, she’s always been this person, the only difference is that she’s more open, edgier and sexier.

10/10 would recommend her and her shows to anyone, she’s an amazing performer and will not let you forget it. Oh and meeting her was obviously amazing too 😍😍 she looks like a freakin doll (in a good way!!) and is 10 times more gorgeous in person!!! And obviously Kehlani and DJ Khaled were great to see live as well. Overall great tour and show, and if I could, I would totally go to another show from this tour to do it all over again.

Wish I had gotten a better picture of this, but it’s how she closed out the show after she finished performing TMYLM, which was SO cute (if you can’t tell their 2 roses).
