Apple & Pumpkin Picking 2018!

Happy Monday everybody!

I hope you guys had a good, fun, relaxing and productive weekend like I did! 🙂 Today’s post is going to be about something SUPER Fall-like, which if you haven’t done, you definitely need to at some point!

I’m talking about going Pumpkin and Apple picking!!

This past weekend (on Saturday), me, Diego, a few of his family members, and some of our friends went to a farm to do some pumpkin and apple picking, and we had the BEST time. We went to Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard, which if you are from New York, it’s in North Salem (Westchester). I’m going to leave their website linked here for anyone that is interested in checking them out.

If you’re anything like me, then you probably haven’t gone to do something like this since you were a kid. Up until last year, I hadn’t gone to do this since I was in like 3rd or 4th grade and they took us as one of our school field trips!

Diego and I had found this place last year, but for one reason or another, only got to go by ourselves. We ended up loving it so much, that we KNEW we had to go back this year and bring some of the people closest to us this time around so they could enjoy it as much as we did the first time, and that’s exactly what we did.

We spent the majority of the afternoon there up until it was closing time for them (which was at about 5:30pm). We all had an amazing time and got to eat great food, pick a TON of apples, and buy some goodies from the store they had on their location.

One thing to mention about this place in general though, is that it’s all cash-only. So if you’re going to make a trip up here, come prepared with that. Personally, I brought $100 in cash and that was more or less fine to hold me off for the day and everything that we did. However, worse comes to worse (although I know people try to avoid this because of the added fee(s)), they do have an ATM on location in case you wanted/needed to take out more.

One of the really cute things this farm has is their little Country Store. It’s actually one of the first things you see when you’re driving in to the farm. It’s decently big, and super festive for the Fall/Halloween season.

Inside the store they have everything from baked goods, to produce that they grow themselves on the farm, to homemade jams of all different flavors, and even decorations and pumpkin carvers for the pumpkins you pick up there.

This is also where people would go when they place any orders for pies around the holidays to pick them up (which I’ll talk more about later on in the post).

Although obviously the main attraction(s) here would be the apples and pumpkins, they also have a ton of other things to do as well. There were countless amounts of amazing food vendor stands, little games and activities for kids, somewhat of a petting zoo for kids (which included horses, chickens, and goats), and even live music.

The food was AMAZING. Granted, I am a picky eater and will mainly stick to the foods I know and love like burgers, chicken tenders, fries, etc., BUT nonetheless it was all good.

I’m sure people would say/think that the food is slightly overpriced for what you would normally get anywhere else, but I think it’s pretty worth it considering everyone there  makes everything right in front of you, so it’s all fresh for the most part.

Something I highly recommend for people to try when you come here is the HUGE turkey legs that they always sell. From what I’ve seen, it’s definitely a best-seller. Diego absolutely loved it last year, and ended up being one of the first things he wanted when we came this time around too (pictured above).

Among the foods I just mentioned, they also had things like ice cream, fried oreos, cider donuts, fresh squeezed lemonade (which btw 10/10 recommend that you try the strawberry lemonade because WOW.), and pumpkin pie cheesecake.

This is the strawberry lemonade. I believe it was $3 per container like this. We legit kept going back to get more, and by the time we left, we had gotten like 4 or 5 of them. SO good!!

One of MY personal favorite parts of all this was definitely the pumpkin pie cheesecake…….you guys, if you know me (as I’ve mentioned several times in several different blog posts), I am SUCH a picky eater, more so with regular food as opposed to desserts, but nonetheless picky.

HOWEVER, when Diego and I came last year, he managed to get me to try a sample of the pumpkin pie cheesecake they had there, and I swear I fell in love after that. So much so that I ended up placing an order for the big size that they had to be able to have that as one of the desserts at Thanksgiving last year, and I FULLY intend on doing the same thing this year as well!! So worth it, and they are all handmade by this cute little family that’s always at the farm!

Overall, it was a really great and fun experience. Diego and I had a lot of fun last year when we went, but I think it was even better being able to experience it with some of the people closest to us this year as well.

If you haven’t been pumpkin or apple picking, but have been considering going lately and aren’t sure which farm to go to (and are in the NY area), I 100% recommend Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard. It’s a great place to go with a group of your family or friends, and is super kid-friendly as well.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and I’ll see you in the next one 🙂 !

All About Fall

Gooooooooooooooooood Morning Everyone! 😊

I’m here at work, and so far it’s been a pretty slow day, not much going on in the office right now. So, I was sitting here brainstorming what some of my future posts should be about and reminiscing on old ones, and although I do have a list already of future topics I want to and will speak about, I realized that a lot of my recent posts have been pretty serious/heavy topics. So I thought about it and figure that I’ll do an impromptu post of something a lot more lighthearted than some of the others that have been going up lately. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fall_image

It’s another tag, and yes again, I know doing tags are predominantly for YouTubers and you really don’t see things like that going up on blogs, but I thought it would be something fun and sort of out of the blue to do today. 😅

This is pretty much an Everything Fall 🍁🍂 tag. I don’t know about anyone else, but Fall is like my favorite season. It’s not too hot, not too cold (that is when the weather is actually cooperating), and it’s just like the perfect time of year. The leaves are changing colors and falling, pumpkin and apple picking, it’s just a really beautiful time of year.

There’s a really beautiful quote that I always see around this time of year and love so much; “The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let the dead things go.” It might sound a little weird and/or gruesome, but there’s just something about it that I like. It’s also the passageway for the holidays starting which is exciting in itself (to me anyway).

So it’s all going to be two different tags technically, but all the questions and stuff are going to be Fall related.

Let’s get started! The first one I’m doing is I Heart Fall.

I Heart Fall Tag:

1. Favorite Fall scent – It’s this candle called Home from Bath & Body works…UGH I love it so much, it’s so pretty and soft smelling, definitely my favorite. Unfortunately, it says limited edition on it so I’m not sure if it’s something you could still purchase online or in store.
2. Best way to spend a rainy day – Personally, at home cuddled up in a blanket with (or without) your significant other watching movies/Netflix all day.

3. Favorite Fall Drink – This is hard to say, because I know the basic answer would be Pumpkin Spice Latte, which I’ve tried and think is okay, but I’m not obsessed with it like other people. So I’m just going to say my normal Iced Caramel Macchiato drink from Starbucks. ☕️
4. Football 🏈 , yay or nay? – Somewhere in between, it’s probably like jumping on the bandwagon, but I always get excited for watching it when the SuperBowl comes around, and every year when it does, I tell myself next season I want to REALLY get into it, but never do lol.
5. Favorite article of clothing this Fall – Sweatersssssssssssssssssss ! and long boots 😍
6. Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze? – Oh dear…haunted ANYTHING and me are just not a good mix, I’m too much of a chicken shit for any of that lmao 🤦🏻‍♀️
7. The scariest movie you’ve ever seen… – The Exorcist movies SMDH!!!

e60c7c5f28c8ce5c7359493330807cde--autumn-photos-fall-pics.jpg

8. Favorite candy to eat on Halloween? – I’m such a chocolate person that I’ll say KitKat, but actual candy probably swedish fish or those candy hamburgers.
9. What will you or your kids be this year? – I have no idea yet!!!! Still in the process of figuring that out lol.
10. What is your Favorite thing about Fall? – The leaves changing colors and falling is my absolute FAVORITE thing, it’s so pretty everywhere because of that. 🍃🍂🍁😍

The next tag is called An Autumn Tag.

An Autumn Tag:

1. The smell of pumpkin guts or rotting leaves? Rotting Leaves.
2. Sweet or salty pumpkin seeds? Sweet.
3. Store bought or pumpkin patch pumpkins? If I could go, it would definitely always be pumpkin patch pumpkins, otherwise I’ll settle for store bought ones. 🎃🎃

4. Wool or knit sweaters? – Little bit of both honestly.
5. Halloween party or explore haunted places? – Halloween Party! 💃🏻
6. Apple pie or pumpkin pie? – Pumpkin pie
7. Still, silent nights or rainy, windblown nights? – Rainy, windblown nights! ⛈
8. Witches or ghosts? –Witches

Bonfires-Halloween-Football-Hoodies-Leaves-Cuddling-Fall-Happy-First-Day-of-Fall

9. Raking leaves or climbing trees? – Lol what? Umm climbing trees

10. Ouija boards or ghost stories around a campfire? – I’m a chicken shit people, neither!!!!! 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

11. October or November? – November!!

12. Black cats or owls? – Black cats.

13. Fireplace or candle light? – This one’s hard, so I’ll just say both.

14. Monster movies or their classic novels? – Can never  beat the classic novels!

15. Carve or paint pumpkins? – Carving pumpkins!!

Well that’s all I’ve really got for today, please comment below or send me messages on social media or something if there are things in particular you, my readers, want to see more of. Always open to new ideas of things to post!

Also, feel free to comment below somebody of YOUR favorite Fall things, and/or answer the questions that I answered 😌.

Also, I’m seriously thinking about starting a YouTube channel. I know basic right? lol, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while, and the more I think about it, the more I want to make it happen. It would sort of be a visual aid for my written blog here, not necessarily touching upon all the same things, but something similar to it. What do you think? Leave me your thoughts on it.

Until next time!
