How I Schedule My Work Weeks

Hey guys, happy Tuesday!

If we’re being real I am one of the, if not, THE biggest procrastinator of all time. I’m not proud of it, but it is what it is at this point, I’m working on it.

I’m trying to get myself on a better and more set schedule for everything I tend to work on, and because of that, I’m putting my planner to MUCH better use this year.

I’ve made a vow to myself that in 2020 I will no longer procrastinate, I will be much more organized and keep myself on somewhat of a more strict and consistent schedule (when it comes to my personal work anyway).

Unfortunately, a lot of times no matter how much planning a person tends to do, many things can go wrong and end up throwing you off course, which is why I try not to stress it too much because I know certain things like that ARE inevitable. However, it doesn’t hurt to have some sort of plan set up (as contradicting as that may sound), because you could always figure out ways around this stuff, which is what I’m going to be talking about and showing you guys in today’s post.

I’m going to be showing you guys my planner, talking about some of the things I tend to work on (even though most of you may already know at this point), and how I plan out my work days.

My Planner

I am and have always been OBSESSED with planners. Pictured above is actually my 2020 planner. My mom got me this for Christmas this past year, and I BELIEVE she got it from this store called The Christmas Tree Shops (not sure if it’s only in New York). I’m literally obsessed with this thing at the moment.

It’s pretty self-explanatory what a planner is and mine really isn’t that much different compared to other planners honestly, but I just really love how it looks on the outside and inside. It comes with inspirational quotes for each month, stickers for to-do lists, and a decent amount of space per day to be able to write any and everything you may need to. I use it to write down special dates, trips that are coming up, to-do lists that I may need to remember, etc. etc.

Shown below is an example of what some of the pages look like on the inside.

Putting my planner to good use and scheduling my work days

Putting my planner to good use can be very hit or miss just because I have my relatively set Monday through Friday schedule as far as my full-time job and going to the gym afterwards. Weekends are a lot more easy and flexible to be able to plan and work on my personal stuff.

I do tend to try and sometimes get personal work done DURING the week, while I’m at work or after work on my off-days from the gym, but that’s what makes it hit or miss.

I’m at my full-time job from 9am-6pm Monday through Friday, then MOST days after work, I go to the gym and am there until about 8:30-9pm, then by the time I head home, eat something and get ready for the next day, it can be anywhere from 10-11pm or sometimes even midnight.

There is usually one day during the week that I try to skip the gym and use that time to either shoot some Instagram content with Geno and Diego, do some editing for my new video at the time, or just to catch up on some rest.

As far as shooting Instagram content, I kind of have to find out when I’m shooting on a weekly basis, and I say that because Diego and Geno are usually the ones that take my pictures, and depending on THEIR work schedules for the coming week, will end up determining when I’ll be able to shoot my stuff. Recently, it’s been somewhat consistent lately in that it’ll be on Wednesdays and one day during the weekend (it alternates between Saturdays and Sundays). As for actually posting my Instagram content, I usually try to upload the very next day after shooting, that’s always the same.

If I’m not busy trying to shoot on the weekend, it’s usually because I’m using that time to film and/or edit a new video. Every week I try to film usually on Saturdays (it’s just better and easier for me that day). Then depending on the video, I’ll start editing it the next day, Sunday, or Monday, and try to have it up no later than Wednesday. *This is one of those things that I’m trying to be more consistent with*

As for now with my blog, this is another one of those things that I’m REALLY trying hard to get myself on a stricter schedule for, I usually come up with my blog post ideas during the week while I’m at work, work on it on Sundays and am trying to be consistent with posting new posts on Tuesdays (as I am at this moment). If for whatever reason I don’t finish the post on Sunday, I’ll work on it while I’m at work on Monday and even a bit on the day of , just to make sure that everything is good to go when I publish it.

* * * * * *

Scheduling things like this can be a little crazy sometimes because there are SO many different things that need to be taken into account, but I think I’ve been doing a relatively good job in making it work.

I’m definitely not perfect, and there have been times (as I’m sure there will be in the future), where I’m not at all going to be able to stick to my plan/schedule for one reason or another, but I know that I’ll find another way to make that work somehow.

With things like this (blogging, Instagram content, filming videos), it also makes everything THAT much more simple when you already have in mind WHAT exactly you’re going to be working on that day; whether it’s the specific video, the outfit and location of the place you’re gonna be shooting at or the particular blog post.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I hope that it helped you get a better idea about how I tend to schedule my work days, as well as possibly even got YOU interested in wanting to invest in a planner. They actually really do come in handy and I recommend getting yourself one if you tend to have a lot going on in your life.

Please make sure to drop a like if you enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you guys in the next one!

Tips For Making Your Last Minute Christmas Shopping (Slightly) Easier

Hello Everyone and happy Sunday!!

For my 5th Blogmas post, I thought it would be good, with there being only 9 days until Christmas left and knowing that many tend to leave their shopping for the last minute, to share some tips that I think will be helpful/beneficial in making your shopping (slightly) easier.

Now, some of these may not at all be ground-breaking to you guys, but these are things that I would suggest to anyone in general that I think would be best and easiest when you’re on a time crunch of any sort for holiday shopping.

Plus, some of these things were things that I obviously used in my own personal experience(s) when I was shopping for my family and friends, and they all for the most part ended up working out relatively well.

So let’s get started!!

* * * * *

  1. Know your audience (A.K.A. the person/people you’re shopping for)!

Probably one of the most obvious things to keep in mind, because the more you know the person you’re shopping for, the easier it’ll be to pick something(s) for him or her, OR at the very least, it’ll give you an idea of where to start when you’re looking for something to get them.

2. Know how much you’re willing to spend on them.

Another fairly obvious one just because you’d be surprised at how many things/items are narrowed down when you pinpoint how much you’re willing to spend on the person. That alone can help you determine what kind of websites, stores, etc. you’ll end up shopping at, which in turn, may help you pinpoint the particular item(s) you want to get based off of what those places are most known for.

3. Invest in Amazon Prime (at least until your free trial or Christmas Shopping is all done!)

Guys Amazon Prime is literally a life-changer and life-saver. If you haven’t done or tried it before, I recommend you go on their website right this second and sign up for their 3-month free trial or whatever the deal is at the moment. You can buy whatever it is you want to buy for the person/people you’re shopping for, AND get FREE 2-DAY SHIPPING on the item(s). What’s great about that too is that, although not ALL of the items on their site will have the option for the 2-day shipping, 1. while you’re shopping, somewhere next to the items shown, it’ll say ‘amazon prime,’ as in it’s eligible for the 2- day shipping, and 2. they also tend to show you different buying options for the particular item(s) you want. Meaning, if one specific seller of the item you want doesn’t offer it for free 2-day shipping, another seller with the exact same item, might have it instead!

OR if you don’t want to go through the hassle of signing up their free trial, hit up a friend that does have it and ask if you can borrow their account. It’s not like you would be using their cards/money, because you could always input new credit/debit card information for the buying.

4. Order online and pick-up in store!

This is super easy AND convenient because almost ANY retail store usually has this option. It also just makes any sort of shopping twice as easy, because it avoids the hassle of you having to pay for shipping, as well as having to go into the physical store to find whatever it is that you’re wanting and then wait in line to have to pay for it. Sure you’ll probably have to wait on a separate line to pick the item up, but it’s still saving A TON of time compared to the alternative and more traditional shopping method.

5. Opting for gift cards!

This may be sort of cheating, and is more of a gift suggestion than anything, but I still consider it to be a great gift and tip. I say this because say you’re the type that not only tends to leave their Christmas shopping for the last minute, but ALSO have no type of idea what to get the person/people you’re shopping for….why not opt for a gift card? You can easily find out their favorite store(s), and just buy them a gift card either online or in-store and let THEM buy whatever it is they truly want/need themselves. Again, similar to buying online and picking up in-store, it allows you to avoid any of the craziness of ‘normal’ shopping, while still managing to get them a gift.

* * * * * *

Well guys, those are all of the tips and tricks that I have for you for any last minute Christmas shopping you guys may be doing throughout the next few days. As I said, I definitely did and followed a few of these things, so I hope you guys enjoyed them and found them helpful to you in some way, shape, or form.

Thank you guys so much for reading and following my posts! Please follow, like, share and comment and I’ll see you guys on Wednesday for my next Blogmas post!

5 Tips For a Healthy & Long-Lasting Relationship

Today’s post is actually one that was requested for Diego and I to do.

For those of you that don’t know, we’ve actually been together as a couple for 4 years (4 years and 3, almost 4, months technically).

IMG_1252

**Let me know if you guys would be interested in seeing an entire post dedicated to how we met, got together, etc.**

That being said, we got asked to do a post where we mention the 5 biggest things that we think are needed and/or that we do to keep our relationship going strong all this time, so that’s what we’re doing today.

And by no means with us doing this post, does that mean that we have the ‘perfect relationship’, because we definitely do not. But, we have been together 4 years and the things we are going to mention are things that we’ve come to realize have been EXTREMELY important in us maintaining our relationship for as long as we have.

Also, some of the things we are going to mention did not just happen overnight. It took time for us to really learn and understand how to do these things and get better with them as well to build the strong relationship that we have now at the moment (not perfect, but definitely strong).

In other words, if you’re going to be reading these things and thinking, hoping or expecting for results right away, you’re PROBABLY going to end up being disappointed. Take everything we’re going to mention with a grain of salt, find out how these things can work for you and work towards that. Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither will any sort of relationship(s)!!

* * * * * *

  1. Communication. 100% NOT the first time I’ve mentioned this before, and will definitely not be the last. COMMUNICATION IS E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G in a relationship!!! Cliche? Sorry, but it’s the truth. There’s no way of having a real relationship without it. Without communication how would you ever be able to express yourself and how you’re feeling whether positive or negative? If you and your significant other can’t talk about everything from the good to the bad and the ugly, then maybe you guys shouldn’t be together. And don’t get me wrong, this is one of those things that definitely takes time to master in a relationship. Diego and I still struggle with this every so often because we can both be hard-headed and stubborn, but we’ve gotten A LOT better with it, and this is definitely a key aspect in our (and any) relationship.

2. Compromise. This is another big one. Things are not always going to go your way in a relationship, neither will it always go your significant other’s way. So, if either of you are used to that from previous relationships, you need to throw that mentality out the window. Any true, meaningful relationship has to have compromise in it. If you want to go somewhere on a date that has a specific type of food that you like, and your significant other wants to go somewhere that has completely different options, then you guys need to speak about it and come to a common understanding that maybe one weekend you’ll go to where you want to, then the next weekend you guys will go somewhere he/she likes, OR you find a place that has the type of foods you both like (random example, but you guys get the point lol).

3. Trust/Understanding. Everyone at some point or another has probably been hurt and/or burned from a previous relationship, fling, etc. However, it’s important to understand the current person that you’re with. Chances are if they act certain ways in certain situations of your guys relationship, it’s for a reason. I know many people tend to have a certain mentality and believe that with any new relationship(s) you shouldn’t speak about your past or exes, but I don’t necessarily feel like that’s true, although I will say it does depend on the person you’re with currently, which only you can be the judge of. When Diego and I first got together, I remember one particular night where we were talking about that stuff for HOURS, but it was really just to better understand each other, the things we had both been through and knew we didn’t want to happen in our current relationship.

As for trusting the person, if you don’t trust them, what’s the point of being with them? I know better than anyone what it’s like to be hurt/broken from previous relationships, but you have to some extent keep that out and away from your current relationship, because this is a completely different person, completely different situation and circumstance, etc. Will the thought(s) of it possibly happening again be there? Of course, but you have a right to voice that to your significant other to have them understand your concerns. Besides, that’s also what the ‘talking stage’ before your relationship is for, to determine whether or not you think this person will do the same things your ex did or whether or not you can trust this person enough to actually start a relationship with them.

Obviously the instances I mentioned are predominantly for the beginning stages of a relationship, but I think it goes without saying that it should be continued throughout the rest of your relationship as well.

4. Love. Probably the most obvious one of them all. Like duh, right? But you’d be surprised how many people end up staying with a person for years and years and years just because they feel comfortable and not actually because of loving the person. Being with one person for SO long is not going to be easy, whether it’s just dating or being married to them, but you have to make sure the spark is still there and ‘alive’ in order to really make things work. It’s definitely not always going to be perfect and happy, but it’s a two-way street to make sure that you’re keeping things alive and exciting from physical to the recreational stuff between you two. I tell people that I know all the time that if you’re not IN LOVE with a person, then let them go, because you’re holding them and yourself back from finding the real love of your life, and that’s not fair to either of you. Don’t stay with someone because of comfort or guilt, stay with them because they truly make you happy, you’re in love with them and they actually DO something for you.

5. And lastly, To Have Fun. Your relationship should not be super serious to the point where it not only feels like a job to keep it going, but it’s just not fun anymore. A relationship IS work, but it’s supposed to be fun and loving at the same time. If you guys aren’t having fun with each other, making each other laugh about the corniest things, or enjoying the simplest of things with one another, then why bother? Your significant other is supposed to be your best friend and someone you can tell everything to and know you’re always going to laugh and have fun with.

* * * * * *

Do not get discouraged if these things don’t seem to work for you and your relationship right away. It’s going to take time, but if you really love and care about a person, then you will find a way to make it work (and vice versa with the person on the opposite end of the relationship).

I realize that it’s not always going to be sunshine and daisies throughout your relationship, but we think by having these things be some of the core things to follow in your relationship, then the good and happy times should definitely end up outweighing the bad ones.

I hope this was helpful to you guys in some way, shape or form especially the person who requested to see this post 🙂

Leave me a comment down below or through social media about other posts you guys would like to see and I’ll be sure to make it happen at some point or another. Thanks so much for reading. Please like, share and follow if you haven’t already, and I’ll see you guys in my next post!
