My Favorite TV Shows

Hellooooooo everybody! 🙂

For today’s post I thought it would be fun to share with you guys some of my all-time favorite TV shows, especially since a couple of months ago, I did something similar but with my favorite movies (which I’ll leave linked here if you guys wanted to check it out).

Nowadays, due to the lack of free-time I end up having, I almost never get to REALLY watch and/or keep up with most TV shows, unless it’s late at night for like half hour before I go to bed.

HOWEVER, the few times I DO somehow manage to have some free-time and be able to watch TV, chances are, I’m watching one of the shows that I’m about to mention.

As always, they are not going to be in any particular order (except for the very first one I’m going to mention, and you’ll see why 😏), but I’m also going to try and give you guys a brief little description as to WHY they’re my favorite shows.

* * * * * *

So, without further adieu……here they are:

  1. Friends

Friends-together-withtitle-friends

Don’t be surprised by this one…..AT ALL. If you know me, you know that Friends is literally my ALL TIME FAVORITE SHOW!!!!!!! Nothing can beat it (I’m aware of how bold a statement that is, but it’s the truth…….don’t argue with me).

This is a show that I can literally watch every single day, several times a day, over and over again throughout the series, never get bored of it, and still always find the same jokes, phrases, etc. as funny as I did the very first time I ever watched it…which is actually interesting considering HOW quickly I tend to get bored with things usually, but whatever I’m not questioning it.

If by some miracle, you’ve never seen and/or ever heard of Friends, either go on Netflix right now and watch it from beginning to end, OR tune in to Nick @ Nite at 11pm until about 1:30am to watch a few episodes a night!!

2. Vampire Diaries

vampire-diaries-cast-750x522-1462481638

I was BEYOND obsessed with this show when it first came out. It was during the whole Twilight-Vampire obsession phase that I had, so OF COURSE I was interested in it. I mean c’mon, sexy main vampire characters, love triangles, and teen drama…who doesn’t love that?! And I was actually pretty good with keeping up with it for a long time, until like the last season or 2 when I had heard *SPOILER* that they had killed Elena off the show….then I was just pissed and said screw this because seriously, HOW DO YOU KILL THE MAIN CHARACTER OFF HER SHOW?!! I was so upset…

But recently (a few months ago or so) I decided to not only re-watch the show, but also actually watch until the end, and oh my god…my poor heart. I won’t say what happens because if you haven’t seen it, you definitely should, but wow what an emotional roller-coaster.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of how they ended the show, but overall, I really loved it and would still re-watch it if I ever had some time (which I’ve been thinking about doing again recently).

3. Total Divas/Total Bellas

I honestly forgot how exactly I got into this show, but I think it was just mainly because it was the Divas from wrestling. When I was younger, my brother and I were REALLY into wrestling, we would consistently watch it every Mondays and Thursdays whenever it would come on TV. And so when I saw and/or heard that they were coming out with a reality show for the Divas (Total Divas) from wrestling, even though I really didn’t know or ever hear of any of the ones that were on the show, I was immediately interested.

Oh, and John Cena would make occasional appearances, so there was also that, which was just an added bonus.

I think it’s a pretty good reality show, if you’re into wrestling at all (or were) and know any of the girls on the show. They also have a spin-off now called Total Bellas for the Bella twins (who were my personal favorite on Total Divas ANYWAY), so whenever I can, I really like to watch and/or catch up on what’s going on with theses shows.

4. Jersey Shore

91uVQlCdViL._RI_

I feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory….lol. I mean c’mon, Jersey Shore is and I feel like always WILL be a classic. I don’t watch this show all the time, but I go through random phases every couple of months where I just feel the urge to want to watch certain episodes, and so I do, and it ends up being me re-watching the ENTIRE series.

I haven’t been able to watch and/or really keep up at all with Jersey Shore: Family Vacation as much, and I don’t think they’re actually on any of the streaming services like Netflix or Hulu, but if it was, I would definitely watch it.

5. Law & Order (SVU)

Law-Order-SVU-pinterestcom

Who doesn’t love a good crime show? Personally, I love the older seasons and episodes when Olivia and Elliot were still partners, but I’ll watch this show regardless. You get so hooked from just watching a few episodes alone, it’s hard not to want to keep watching.

I’m not actually sure if they stream that show on Netflix, Hulu, or any other streaming sites, but you can definitely always find it playing on TV at some point throughout the day.

6. Sex & The City

25

This is another show that is and will ALWAYS be a classic. If I remember correctly, I think I actually got into this show when I was in my first year of college. My roommate Abby and I would literally stay in our dorm room for hours before and after classes with food, snacks, etc. just binge watching this show ALL the time. It’s SO good.

I don’t know how I waited so long to finally see the movie, but about a year ago, I saw the first movie, and of course LOVED it. Now, I just need to see the second one even though I’m sure I’ll end up loving it as well! 😀

7. Hell’s Kitchen

HellsKitchen1-900x675

If you’re in to cooking and/or watching cooking shows and have never seen this one before, I HIGHLY recommend that you do. Gordon Ramsay is an AMAZINGLY blunt British badass, who is also an amazing chef.

Hell’s Kitchen is probably my favorite show of his to watch. It can be super intense, just because it’s a competition between a bunch of different chefs from all over the US over who ends up being the head chef at his newest restaurant and some people pass out from the pressure or have Gordon scream and curse his ass off at the competitors when they screw any/all of the dishes in the dinner services up.

I believe they stream multiple shows of his on Hulu and/or Netflix if you guys wanted to check it out.

8. Chopped

screen_shot_2014-04-07_at_11.48.53_am

Another great cooking show that I always love and find interesting to watch. I only recently somehow stumbled upon this show, but I’m glad that I did, because it’s SO great.

Similar to Hell’s Kitchen, it’s a cooking competition show, but for this show specifically there’s three rounds (appetizers, entrees and dessert). For each course the competitors are given only a handful of certain ingredients, and with that, they’re expected to come up with a dish for each course that’s going to blow the judges away. Not to mention they only have a certain, short amount of time to be able to make the dishes per round. Most of the time the winner ends up getting a prize of $10,000.

This too gets streamed on Hulu, or if you don’t have Hulu, they also give it all the time on the actual Cooking Channel.

9. Power

2560x1440

Self-explanatory, again. This show is probably the BEST crime drama series/show out right now.

I’ll wait for someone to try and argue with me about it……….

Nothing, right? Okay then, let’s continue…

This show is AMAZING and will 100% ALWAYS keep you not only on your toes, but also always wanting more. The romance, the action, it’s all so good; and if you haven’t seen it before, I definitely recommend you do before the new season comes out this summer!

The only thing I really don’t like and/or care for is the fact that it always feels like FOREVERRRRRR before the newest season comes out, although that could just be from how excited and impatient I am, but yeah….COME OUT WITH SEASONS QUICKER POWER PRODUCERS!!😤

10. Baking Championships (Holiday, Halloween, Spring, etc.)

bf86a625929ab56ae22c2cb66be818b6ed3860d8acdc1e0dda381a640c9c

So similar to cooking shows, I’m also REALLY into watching almost anything related to baking (yes, I LOVE to bake, although I don’t get to do it nearly as much as I’d like). However, out of most of the shows for baking they tend to run on the cooking channel, these Baking Championships tend to be my favorites.

They have some with kids, some with adults, and they’re all for different occasions (as shown in the picture). Out of all of them though, I would have to say that my absolute 2 favorites are the ones for Halloween and Christmas; they’re so festive and cute and SO interesting to watch the kind of stuff the contestants come up with.

11. Bones

market

Another great crime show. This is actually a show that my dad introduced me to years ago (how crazy is that to say?!). We used to watch it as a family ALL the time, every Wednesdays from 8-9pm, it was great.

This show is similar to Law & Order, except it’s much more lighthearted, meaning, there’s a lot more jokes, sarcasm, romance, etc. being thrown around ON TOP of the actual crime stuff that they show.

Fun Fact: This show was actually one of the main reasons that I entertained the idea of studying and becoming a forensic anthropologist back in high school (until my guidance counselor at the time shot and killed my dreams one day 🙃). I wanted to be just like Dr. Temperance Brennan!! haha.

12. Teen Mom

Another great drama-filled reality show. I’ve been “following” these ladies (a.k.a. just watching the show with them on it), since they were all originally on 16 & Pregnant. SO crazy how fast time flies considering all of their “babies” are pretty much grown-up now. But, I only really watch the show because of particular girls on it like all of the girls from Teen Mom 2 and only Macie and Catelynn from Teen Mom OG. I kind of find the other 2 annoying, but what do I know? Lol.

Anyway, similar to Jersey Shore and Total Divas/Bellas it’s a reality show, so there’s going to be a ton of drama, ups, downs, relationships, etc. It’s funny and interesting to somewhat keep up with peoples’ lives the way you do when you watch reality shows like this, but what can I say? I’m a sucker for a good reality show.

* * * * * *

So those were all of the shows that I tend to watch whenever I get a little bit of free-time, but I also wanted to share with you guys some shows that I actually want to START watching, but haven’t found the time to do yet, in hopes that maybe you guys can give me some feedback on them like whether or not they’re actually worth the watch. So, here they go:

  1. You

becd48b3-17b1-4320-8cfb-62ff24d609a0-you1

Never watched Gossip Girl, but heard it was extremely similar to that show, so I guess if I watch this show then I kind of have to watch the other? I know they don’t go hand-in-hand, but still. Worth the watch or over-hyped?

2. Riverdale

riverdale

Okay, so I have NO idea why, but for a long time now, I’ve had the strong urge to start watching this show. Never saw it before, never saw any trailers for it, etc., but something’s always told me to watch it for some reason, because I have a feeling I’ll REALLY like it, but I don’t know…about 2-3 months ago when I had some time on my hands and wasn’t working 2 jobs, I watched like the first 2 episodes, and wasn’t really into it.

Worth the watch or over-hyped? Does it take a little while to really get into it?

Also, fun fact: my brother and I were HUGE fans of the original Archie comics when we were kids! 🙂

3. Orange Is The New Black (Torn about this one?)

OITNB_S6_Header

I’m a little late to the party with this one, but I’ve always kind of heard mixed reviews on it. I also heard after like the 4th season, it kind of started going downhill and was nowhere near as good as it was when it first started, soooooo…….thoughts? Worth it or not so much?

4. Big Mouth

954332

And finally lol …… this show. So Chris (my brother), one day when he was home last November, had me watch the first like 5-10 minutes of this show with him, and man oh man did it not only take me off guard, but it also fucked me uppppppppppp. I was not expecting to hear the stuff that I did in the first couple of minutes. BUT, it’s actually really funny to think back on now, and I think I’d actually really like it, so what do you guys think? Yay or nay on giving this show a shot?

* * * * * *

I also thought it would be really fun to do similar posts about this for my favorite throwback TV shows from like early 2000s and late ’90s (animated and regular), and take a small trip down memory lane, because that’s always fun to do once in a while isn’t it? Let the nostalgia hit and linger for a bit….I know I always love that every once in a while.

Let me know what you guys think about that and if that would be something you’d be interested in seeing?! 🙂

Also, let me know in the comments what you thought about some of my favorite TV shows to watch. Are any of the ones I mentioned your favorites too? Do you have completely different ones? Do you guys have any good show recommendations for me to start?! Let me knowwwww! 😀

I hope you guys enjoyed this post; as always, thank you so much for reading. Please like, share, follow and comment and I’ll see you guys in my next post!

-Xoxo, LeoGirl ❤

All About Me

Hey Guys!

I know it’s pretty early in the day (or at least it is where I’m at on the East Coast), and typically something like this is really only done in YouTube videos for the most part, but I figure it would be a fun little way for you to get to know me a bit. I’m going to attempt to do as many of these as I can. I’m also going to try and make it as interesting as possible as far as the questions, and not have all of them be like super basic ones lol.

Also, before I start, I just wanted to mention about my posts, that I’m not exactly sure when or how often I’ll be posting, because I haven’t come up with a sort of schedule for it yet, but I’m going to try and post as often as I can. It might not be every single day, back to back, like yesterday and today, but if I can do it 3-4 times a week, I think that would be pretty good. Right? I don’t know, I’ll have to figure it out, and when I do, I’ll probably write a post about it updating you guys. But let me stop rambling and get to the point of this post now lol, here we go….

All About Me Tag:

1. My name: Emily Hernandez

2. What does your name mean?: So I had to Google this one, because I never really knew what my name meant, but what came up pretty much is that it’s Latin for industrious; striving.

3. Where are you from?: I’m going to assume this is like a nationality question, so I’ll say that I’m Puerto Rican and Italian.

4. Where do you live?: I live in the South Bronx right now.

5. What do you do for a living?: I just started my first full-time job out of college as a receptionist.

6. Favorite color(s): Red, Purple, and Burgundy. Ignorant people will say that red and burgundy are pretty much the same, but they are not!!! >:[

7. Favorite holiday: Christmas. If you know me, you know I am truly OBSESSED with that holiday lol.

8. Are you competitive?: Not all the time, but I definitely think I can be for certain things.

9. What is on top of your bucket list?: Oh boy, this is probably vague, but honestly it’s just to be able to travel all over the world.

10. What is your biggest accomplishment?: Thus far, as cliche as it may sound, I would say graduating college; and also being blessed to have landed this full-time job within 2 1/2-3 months being out of school.

11. Which of your parents are you more like?: I would have to say my dad, and I would say that sometimes it’s in good ways, and sometimes bad ones.

12. Do you have a best friend, if so, then who? Her name is Michelle 🙂

13. What app do you use most?: I would say it’s a close tie between Instagram and Snapchat.

14. How many relationships have you been in?: Serious ones? Only 2.

15. Do you have pets?: Yes, I have a cat named Spencer ❤ ^_^

16. Have you ever been out of the country, if so how many times?: Yes, and twice.

17. Do you speak any other languages?: I can speak broken Spanish, if that makes sense. And I know certain phrases and what not in Italian.

18. How many siblings do you have?: 1 brother, Chris.

19. Favorite movie: Ugh, there are SO many, i’ll be here forever naming them. But the Harry Potter Series is definitely up there, any Nicholas Sparks movie, the Twilight series, LOL, etc., etc., (am if I wasn’t basic before, am I there now?).

21. What phone do you have?: Iphone 6s, the “rose gold” one.

27. Have you participated in sports?: I used to play volleyball and softball in high school. Currently, I’ll play basketball with my brother and boyfriend every so often, but that’s about it.

28. On a scale from 1-10, rate your childhood: 5.

29. What is your favorite store?: Oh boy… Victoria Secret, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, H&M, Garage, Barnes and Noble, Fashion Nova, etc. Lol.

30. Did you like school?: This one’s hard. Anyone who knows me knows that I had a very love/hate relationship with school, especially towards the end. (This is definitely a future post I’d like to make to speak more about it and my thoughts on it all).

31. What are some of your favorite YouTubers?: Jaclyn Hill, KathleenLights, Manny MUA, and Amanda Bucci I would say are definitely my top favorites.

32. How long have you known your best friend?: I’ve known her since Freshmen year, but we got close in Sophomore year, so I’ll say 7 years, coming up on 8 soon.

33. What position do you normally sleep in?: Either on my stomach with my face stuffed in my pillow (I know that sounds weird, but no I’m not trying to kill myself), or laying on my right side.

34. Were you part of a clique in high school? I went to an all girls high school, and I don’t really think we had any of that there, unless I was completely oblivious to it. I mean I had my set group of friends that I would be with, and pretty much everyone was like that too, but I don’t know if I would necessarily classify that as having cliques.

35. Have you ever given blood?: I’m Anemic, so I can’t 😦 but I’ve ALWAYS wanted to.

36. Name one movie that made you cry: Marley & Me. It doesn’t matter where I am, how much time has passed since the last time I watched it, or how frequently I watch that movie, I will ALWAYS cry my eyes out like a baby whenever they put Marley down 😥

37. Do you prefer to read poetry, write poetry, or neither?: I’ve tried writing poetry several times before and feel like I suck at it. But recently I’ve really gotten into reading poetry, especially from R.h. Sin. He writes some amazing stuff.

38. Have you ever broken a bone? If so, how? Yes (thanks Chris -_- YA BUM), I’ve broken my left wrist before. It was a long time ago, probably when I was like 8-9 years-old. Long story short, my brother and I were in this park playing on the monkey bars, my brother goes first, and while he’s on it, I decided to tickle him. Now, keep in my mind my brother was always tall, so when I tickled him, and he let go, he landed on his feet with NO problems because his feet were pretty much touching the ground anyway. So then it was my turn, and I was not tall at all lol, so he tickled me back, I fell off the monkey bars landing face first into the floor, landing on my chest, and I guess I thought my hands would stop the fall, because I landed on my wrist too (how it was only my left wrist and not my right one too, I have no idea). So anyway I’m laying there on the floor pretty much dying (from how it felt) because I landed on my chest and the wind was knocked out of me so I couldn’t breathe, and I was trying to let my brother know that, he couldn’t understand me and just thought I was making funny noises, so he was laughing at me the whole time >_>. I finally got my breathe back, stood up, and was walking to my mom ( I still hadn’t realized my wrist was broken), so I’m walking and then my mom starts screaming, “OMG, WHAT HAPPENED?! TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL!!,” so I finally looked down, and kinda just saw my wrist dangling, andddddddddd then the pain kicked in. Lol, so yeah that’s how I broke my wrist.

39. What was the last thing you watched on TV?: I’m re-watching the entire Vampire Diaries series, so like episode 3 of that.

40. Do you think you’d make a good parent?: Actually, yes. I love kids, and have worked with them every year since I was 13, they obviously were not my biological kids, but there’s always an attachment that grows between you and them, and I’ve learned a lot about kids, how to deal with them, etc., so I think those experiences will help me later on with my own.

41. When is your birthday?: August 17th; I’m a Leo, hence, my blog name lol.

42. Do you wear glasses, if so for how long?: Yes, I do actually. Since like 2011, though I’ve gotten more used to them than I probably should have, because they were only supposed to be meant for things like reading the boards at school and what not, but I literally wear them all day, everyday now.

43. Why did one of your friendships end? This is a good one actually. I’ve had several friendships that I’ve had to end recently, some of which I’ve had since I was like a baby. And it was some extremely difficult decisions that I had to make, but you know what, I grew up and came to realize that many of these friendships were not only not good for me to keep up, but also way too much work for me to keep up. They became too needy in a sense, and would always expect me to be the one to keep up the friendship by constantly calling and texting them, but I would have a lot going on in my life because I like to keep busy, and they would not only get upset with me, but not at all be understanding with me about any of it. My thought on it is, yes we are friends, and yes of course I’d love to speak to you, but it’s not something that I should have to do every single day, and it shouldn’t always only be me initiating it. Friendship is a two-way street, and we’re all adults here; we’re in relationships, working full-time jobs, busy with other commitments, and if you can’t understand that, as a friend of mine and support it, then maybe we shouldn’t have any type of friendship/relationship at all.

44. Why did your last relationship end?: Because it was toxic, and really messed me up mentally.

45. Are you still figuring out who you are?: Of course. Especially at the age I’m at, I have so many different interests, goals, plans for myself, etc., and think I have an idea of the type of person I want to be in life and what I want to do, but God and life in general works in such mysterious ways, that everything I have in mind for myself could change in an instant. So for now, I’m still figuring things out.

46. When was the last time you laughed so hard? LMAO yesterday at a picture of a fork my boyfriend put up on Snapchat.

47. Where do you go when you’re sad?: I pretty much just stay in my room and isolate myself from everyone.

48. What’s your favorite candle scent? Marshmallow Fireside from Bath and Body works omg.

49. What religion will you raise your children to practice? No religion. I will explain to them that I was brought up Catholic, baptized, confirmed, communion, the whole nine-yards, and explain it all to them thoroughly, but will never try forcing them to be apart of any religion, that’s something they can attempt to decide for themselves.

50. Do you usually remember your dreams in the morning? Not all, but I do definitely tend to remember a lot of them, especially the most strange ones.

51. What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender? Brandon, Nicholas, or Ernest apparently.

52. Would you rather have an American accent or a British accent? British accent, hands down, lmao I’m always attempting to speak in that type of accent regularly.

53. Do you ever dance even if there is no music playing? LMAO yes, my boyfriend finds me so weird because of it.

54. Heels or flats? Flats, but occasionally heels.

55. What movies could you watch over and over and still love? Harry Potter!!!!

56. Are you stubborn? Ridiculously stubborn sometimes lol

57. Are you dating? I’m not dating as in plural, but I am in a relationship.

58. Do you want any tattoos? I want about 5 of them, but they’re all pretty small, nothing huge and crazy.

59. How old do you think you will be when you have your first child? Maybe 24.

60. Are you a risk taker? Very much so lol, it’s a little bad habit sometimes.

Okay this could go on FOREVER, the more I look for questions, the more I find questions I keep wanting to answer so I’m going to end this here. But I hope you guys enjoy this post, and hope you learned a little bit more about me.

Talk to you guys soon!

-Xoxo Leo Girl.
